Miselup's HACCP module: what it does and what it doesn't
Plan, control points, records and the book for an inspection. Miselup is where you log it: it doesn't replace your consultant or your food safety plan.

What is Miselup’s HACCP module?
It’s the part of Miselup you use to run your food safety self-checks without paper. It has four pieces, chained together:
- The plan — your food safety manual inside the app. It starts out «in draft», and once you sign it, it becomes «in force» with its own edition number.
- The control points — every place or task the plan keeps an eye on: a cold room, goods receiving, cleaning.
- The records — what gets logged every day at each point, with its verdict.
- The book and the report — the document for the period: filterable, printable and exportable.
Does Miselup write my HACCP plan or advise me on it?
No. Miselup is a logging tool: it gives you the place to write things down, the format they get stored in, and the document to print. It is not a food safety consultancy, and it doesn’t decide for you which hazards your kitchen has or what figures each control has to meet.
You can see that in how the app is built: when a control has no declared figure, Miselup doesn’t invent one — it asks you for it in the «Set criteria» dialog, and prints it on the document as your own establishment’s criterion, with whatever justification you write next to it. You, or your consultant, are the ones who decide those figures.
Where do I find HACCP inside the app?
In the sidebar, under the «HACCP» group, with two screens:
- «Temperatures» — the «Temperature control» screen: you add equipment with its range and log readings.
- «Records» — the «Record book»: the plan, «Due today», the control points and the book for the period.
From the book you get to the report, which is the paperwork you hand an inspector.
What do I need before I start with HACCP?
- A declared site. Health registration is per establishment, so the plan belongs to a site: if you don’t have one, the app sends you to your company details with the «Go to company details» button.
- An activity profile (restaurant, production workshop, central kitchen, event catering, vulnerable populations…): it determines which control points get created and how strict the plan is.
- A named person in charge. With no name, the app won’t let you approve the plan.
Who is the HACCP module for?
- The owner or manager, who activates the plan, sets the criteria, reviews the book and pulls the report.
- The kitchen team, who log from their phones in the team portal — with the kitchen link and their PIN — without ever entering the management dashboard.
- The inspector, who gets a document with the period’s records, who logged each one, the missing checks and the annex of corrections.
Does it depend on my subscription?
Reading, printing and exporting your book never depends on your subscription: it’s your food safety paperwork and it stays whole even if you change plan. What the subscription decides is which new records you can add: temperatures are on the Pro subscription and the rest of the records (goods receiving, cleaning, pests, training, allergens, water) on the Compliance subscription. The terms of each are at miselup.pro/en/pricing.
Known limits
- Miselup does not legally validate your plan. It describes, stores and prints what you log; the content of your food safety system is your establishment’s responsibility.
- No sensors. Readings are typed in: there are no connected probes and no continuous monitoring.
- Not every record type has a form yet. The ones that don’t are flagged as «Capture coming soon»; the rest are logged as normal.
