The spec sheet: photo, steps, smallwares and techniques

Turn the costing into the sheet your kitchen actually uses: main image, videos, method, plating, smallwares and techniques.

What is the spec sheet in Miselup?

The spec sheet is the same recipe you have already costed, but with everything the kitchen needs to reproduce it: image, times, steps, presentation, smallwares, techniques and allergens. It isn’t a separate document: you fill it in on the same form as the dish or the preparation, and that is where both the screen version and the paper version come from (Miselup calls it, literally, «Spec sheet»).

How do I add a photo and a video to a spec sheet?

The block is called «Images & media» and it appears on the sheet once you have saved it — if the recipe is new you’ll see the notice «Save the item first to enable images, videos and documents.»

Where do I write the steps and the plating?

On a dish, the «Preparation & plating» section of the spec sheet has two deliberately separate fields (on an intermediate preparation the block is simply called «Preparation»):

  1. «Instructions» — the method, step by step. This is what comes out on the printed sheet under «Preparation».
  2. «Plating» — how it is assembled and sent out. It appears under the same name on the sheet and as «Plating & presentation» on paper.

There is also an «Internal notes» field for the things that only concern your own team; on the sheet it shows as «Notes & remarks».

How do I set the servings and the times?

How do I add smallwares and techniques to a spec sheet?

They are two blocks, each with its own search:

You can also classify the sheet with tags (vegan, spicy, seasonal, best seller…) so you can filter the lists later.

How does my team see the spec sheet?

By turning on «Visible to the team» on the sheet. The setting itself explains the scope: «your team can open this sheet in the /equipo portal (no prices or costs)». It is the read-only recipe book they get into with their URL and their PIN —you have it in /en/help/team-access-url-and-pin/— and it arrives with scalable quantities, steps, techniques, equipment, allergens, videos and the attached documents.

To take it to paper or to a public link, see /en/help/export-and-print/.
